RESCUE SERVICE

Our Rescue Service Team

A rescue squad or unit refers to an emergency service organization that utilizes specialized equipment and skills in order to rescue persons who are trapped, search for and recover drowned persons, or perform any other rescue-related activity. There are two types of rescue squads, those that rescue people who are trapped and those that rescue people with medical emergencies.

Additionally, there are specialized rescue squads that may perform one or all of the following services:

  • Cave rescue
  • Search utilizing dogs for lost, trapped, or missing persons
  • Water rescue and recovery operations utilizing divers

The Rescue Squad responds to calls involving wilderness search and rescue; boat and water safety; first aid; and public safety. Volunteer Rescue Squad Members are trained in specialized skills. These are tasks which require training above and beyond the basic search and rescue skills such as first aid, cross country navigation, wilderness survival, emergency driving, and small boat handling.
